Revenant (Finally) Used in Combat

What a shame that the ship is so poor and yet so expensive it simply doesn't get used

Turd with fighter-bombers.

Can't wait until the first one gets stolen, for then the perp could legitimately be called a Turd Burglar

You should probably get that checked out...

Yeeeeeeeessssssssssssss. Imagine the puns that would lace that narrative.

"While it wasn't one for the history books, it was an opportunity to bait enemy super capitals. Unfortunately they declined the opportunity to make an attempt at the first Revenant kill though"this is bullshit. lol INK has never been known to field supers. it was not baiting a fight. just dicking around it seems. nice attempt at spicing up the story.

I'm glad to see you using zKB, FINALLY a good Killboard ! I'm looking forward to see the first true ship kill of a revenant, you know, something with more than 2.1% damage inflited
Avatar
fairly certain i saw a pl killmail with a revanant on thekillmail that was older than this :P
Avatar
Ship looks like outright ass but I applaud the "No hanger Queens" attitude.
Avatar
The article never states that they were trying to bait INK supers specifically. When supers jump in, other people can and do get involved (eg Asakai).

I'd love to see other pirate faction supers make it into the game. That would, under the current system, require Incursions expanded to other pirate factions too, which would also be pretty cool.
Avatar
Not sure if shooting structures counts as "combat" ;)
Avatar
The first revenant "killed" was the first ever build being aborted by the csaa being exploded.
Avatar
Imagine the Dramiel/Daredevil art style scaled up to supercarrier size. Hooks and prongs all over the place.
Avatar
I would imagine the Angels variant would be more like a large Machariel.

Fetuses aren't alive!

Giant space dildo

The Guristas one would be pretty evil. Enormous shield tank with bonused drones.
Avatar
A good killboard? It doesnt even show what ships the killers are flying...
Avatar
...with hooks and prongs? Disturbing.

I also think this is a sweet idea wish CCP would implement it however i think they should expand DED sites for the BPO's as the incursion story only really works for Sansha maybe a 15 out of 15 DED site only achievable if u have a fleet of Tengu's or something like that idk sounds awesome tho

link or it didn't happen

Perfect for ratting

I beg to differ...

And a jump drive. Talk about being sneak attacked.

"I can't believe you don't trust me."

Or just add other types of incursions since the current ones are mind numbingly predictable.TO MANY OTA's FFS

It does, but it's not very obvious where you have to click to find out.(Near the top left, look for "Involved Pilots")

Before people get too excited, Revenants have been on five killmails to date. The first killmail a Revenant was on was this Cormorant kill. That was an Against All Authorities Revenant shooting an alliance mate in a destroyer, so it doesn't really count as combat. It was followed up with the same Revenant being involved in the first Revenant solo kill … also of an alliance mate in a destroyer.

Flash forward to the recent sale of Poltergeysha's Revenant to BDCI's 1of9 that we reported a few weeks ago here, and Revenants are once more being seen shooting things. Gabs used it almost immediately to kill a TCU, followed by an i-hub to commemorate the event. Technically, those would be the first two kills of things being killed by a Revenant that didn't want to be killed. This Loki, however, is very clearly the first ship killed by a Revenant that did not want to be killed.

The story of how the kill went down isn't really for the history books, though. The Falcon found and caught the Loki, cyno'd, supers jumped in, and then the Revenant jumped in. PL had a couple supers on standby in case the Revenant was tackled. While it wasn't one for the history books, it was an opportunity to bait enemy super capitals. Unfortunately, they declined the opportunity to make an attempt at the first Revenant kill. The Revenant jumped out safely after the kill, but it will likely continue to see action since PL's attitude about combat is "if you own it, you should use it." So, if you happen to have some supers at your disposal, and fancy a challenge and a shot at the record books, keep an eye out. There's a Revenant out there looking for a fight.
