Revenant (Finally) Used in Combat

Before people get too excited, Revenants have been on five killmails to date. The first killmail a Revenant was on was this Cormorant kill. That was an Against All Authorities Revenant shooting an alliance mate in a destroyer, so it doesn't really count as combat. It was followed up with the same Revenant being involved in the first Revenant solo kill … also of an alliance mate in a destroyer.

Flash forward to the recent sale of Poltergeysha's Revenant to BDCI's 1of9 that we reported a few weeks ago here, and Revenants are once more being seen shooting things. Gabs used it almost immediately to kill a TCU, followed by an i-hub to commemorate the event. Technically, those would be the first two kills of things being killed by a Revenant that didn't want to be killed. This Loki, however, is very clearly the first ship killed by a Revenant that did not want to be killed.

The story of how the kill went down isn't really for the history books, though. The Falcon found and caught the Loki, cyno'd, supers jumped in, and then the Revenant jumped in. PL had a couple supers on standby in case the Revenant was tackled. While it wasn't one for the history books, it was an opportunity to bait enemy super capitals. Unfortunately, they declined the opportunity to make an attempt at the first Revenant kill. The Revenant jumped out safely after the kill, but it will likely continue to see action since PL's attitude about combat is "if you own it, you should use it." So, if you happen to have some supers at your disposal, and fancy a challenge and a shot at the record books, keep an eye out. There's a Revenant out there looking for a fight.

Bagehi began playing Eve in 2003 briefly, then returned in 2006. He has been part of IAC, NC, SoCo, and HBC during that time. He has a thing for history, but mostly spends his time IRL in a corner office, staring at financial reports, like a MMD.
