Pandemic Legion To Withdraw From South

Avatar
Caldari FW is getting a huge boost. Why does PL keep doing this to us?
Avatar
Grath needs to write more for TMC, I like his writingstyle.
Avatar
I wonder if the prices of titans will fallwell time to buy trit hahaha
Avatar
when he`s not winning , yes
Avatar
is this Victory day :D
Avatar
No Grath rage soundcloud? WAR FAILED. I DEMAND A REDO
Avatar
Grath's a decent guy, and he's up front and honest w/his people. I'm sure they'll recover just fine. And props to RZR for showing the grace to let them cede the field with their belongings intact.
Avatar
So... Grath is an eatshiter xDDD
Avatar
That'll do pig, that'll do.
Avatar
This sounds like winning
Avatar
AND I DEMAND A FEDO!
Avatar
more like Pandemic Fleegion am i right
Avatar
Ok, that one you should be sorry about.
Avatar
Wow thats so low of goons... They would run anyway why make a deal with them ? So that mittens can buy new titan or something ? What a lot of bs...
Avatar
"pl wanted a deal to abandon n3", seemingly that's what they got. TBH my heart goes with you just a little bit, but Im quite certain you'll recover to full strength and be back on the horse sooner or later.
Avatar
no apologies no regret
Avatar
No ones saying that money didn't exchange hands.
Avatar
If N3 doesn't interfere with Legion on Legion battles, they will be freaking epic. A truly epic one on one!
Avatar
Nor should anyone. That doesn't mean that they couldn't have been utterly spiteful bastards and refused.
Avatar
couldnt help but laugh, sorry PF...eer PL
Avatar
What the fuck else do PL do in this situation? I'm all for riding the smug train to downtown but I think PL's entire handing of the whole B-R 'thing' - before, during and after - has been fucking tip top.
Avatar
Holy shit, Coward Legion does it again!
Avatar
This. This. This again. PL got fucked, but outside of Richter Belmont and PK, they've taken it with as much poise and dignity as anyone. No reason to pretend that this is anything other than what it is: a strategic disaster.
Avatar
When is NC going? Can't be long now.
Avatar
PL fire-sale?
Avatar
They did it all the time lol.
Avatar
NC has to waste some time trying to kill subcaps in GXK first. But don't worry, they'll get there eventually.
Avatar
And NC. and Nulli will still suck Grath's dick like there is no tomorrow when PL decides to "come back".It's like they happily twist the knife sticking in them that is PL every chance they get.
Avatar
Excellent move by Mittens. PL can play with BL. So CFC/RUSRUS can play with N3.So a Gentleman's agreement pardon the pun to levitate the pain of Grath Corp/Alliance.
Avatar
As a GENT, the fact you used a pun, with Kesper as our CEO, made me giggle at that.
Avatar
Read it again, CFC are allowing them to dock and retrieve their shit as they agreed to back out of the fight. They wanted stuff that was in a CFC sov station. They don't need it, but obviously want it.
Avatar
that few domis we sacrificed yesterday to save goons redeployment?if you call this a victory then the b-r massacre hit harder than i expected.
Avatar
Checkmate.
Avatar
Like a certain alliance Deadzoning stations? That wouldn't be poetic justice...
Avatar
You mean the domis I was fighting to keep alive? Be cool, rzr, be cool.
Avatar
ok i'm in PL and that was pretty good.
Avatar
There was D-Day ... and now there is Bee-Day.
Avatar
That would indeed be an example of being spiteful. Perhaps Grath will reconsider that action now, and let RUS get their belongings.
Avatar
PL and the CFC have 2+ years of deals and agreements. Even while we're trying to murder the shit out of each other, they stick to their word, and so do we. That's why this kind of agreement is possible for both sides.
Avatar
-a- is shit.
Avatar
No. They have access to their stuff. As stated in this very article. :V
Avatar
This is why you should choose your allies wisely - after the latest pl/cfc deal n3 probably knew how "tight" their bond with pl is in reality. But I'm seriously disappointed, PL seems to be on the downhill for quite some time now, once one of my favourite alliances in this game... now just one of many that chicken out when shit hits fan. You can say about the russians what you want, but take a look at Solar or DD, that's what I call loyalty and persistence.

I hate PL and N3 as much as the next guy (i'm BL) but kudo's to Grath for looking out for his own and pulling his guys out to get shit together.See you for the MTO timer PL for some legion on legion action ;-)
Avatar
but you have to agree... they took a kick to the nuts and still cool with it. PL GF...Death to all Supercapitals!
Avatar
The MTO station timer will tell tomorrow morning :)
Avatar
Nice ;)
Avatar
At this point in the game there's no meaningful entities left unaligned to pick and choose allies from
Avatar
PL's systems in the north are under attack by Black Legion. It was one contributing factor to B-R as Manny took a fleet north to deal with issues there before coming back south for B-R. At the moment, it needs to defend its own assets.
Avatar
That would be interesting!
Avatar
I dont like the cfc much they have taken my home 2 time now. But prop to you for letteing them get there shit out right call
Avatar
The donut is bluer then ever these days
Avatar
what did I say on all the comments for the last week how long till pl drop n3
Avatar
every other intelligent alliance leader would do the same.
Avatar
Epic Pun.
Avatar
I am just sorry that the station didn't fall into RUS hands. I have this vision, where the *grudge* would have made this kind of agreement impossible, and PL would bugger off north empty handed. Guess that's why i am not a politician, right? Also, very happy i called this like a couple of months ago, when you wrote about PL "not alienating you" - i knew straight up that this was going to happen.
Avatar
I disagree. Fuck their belongings. They made their bed now watch them fucking burn. Don't give these selfish bastards a fucking inch!
Avatar
Would you like to lose 30 Titans and see how you "chicken out"?
Avatar
I have to say that I disagree. as Grath said, PL just took a hit to the nuts that most alliances would never recover from. To not take a step back would be incredibly foolish, and probably result in the disintegration of his alliance. This is essentially the equivalent of Japan's position after the battle of Midway: still in the game, but severely limited in power projection and strategic options.
Avatar
Props PL/Grath :) Would be a worse game without you folks so go get your shit together and come back for a visit soon. I'm pretty sure N3 will start to do a great impression of a lil black hole and start to disappear up their own asses soon without you guys to help them be relevant.
Avatar
Apart from a few oddballs, PL has taken this defeat well. I'm not sure I'd let them retreat so easily but then again I don't know what goes on behind closed doors. Whichever way I hope they can deliver us some more smug very soon. Now N3, come here you little bastard!
Avatar
Manny, teach Grath how to win the war just like you did to the CFC!
Avatar
The only member of n3pl leadership to actually take it on the chin, and gives his members a coherent plan of action. Grath you just went up a notch in my estimation.
Avatar
Must admit wasn't expecting this ... props PL / Grath - never thought I wold say that.
Avatar
Biggest fight in Eve history and still blue doughnut chat is heralded as fact. You sir are talking out your brown doughnut.
Avatar
But who will tickle the ol' gooch? Provibloc? Nah, as next Overlords they will be shafting 'em right in the ol' brown doughnut
Avatar
Yeah, but Japan probably couldn't have negotiated a cessation of hostilities at that point. It's more like Germany's position after the Somme: heavy losses, but at that point, they probably could have managed an honorable peace and put an end to the slaughter.
Avatar
Lol solar is loyal? lol Dont you know that they bagstabbed all of their pets in the end las time they had any relevance, 1 by 1 solars allied went pop down the drain..
Avatar
Please. It's now _A_ (pants down)
Avatar
First of all, they chose to fight this war and they chose to drop their wrecking ball on everything. Every alliance in this war is fighting wars on different fronts, dealing with distance is something both sides have to cope witz - and pl is always fond of rapid deployments so don't cry about it. And don't get me wrong, I totally understand it when you retreat after heavy losses but it's something entirely different if you leave your allies out in the rain to get your shit out of b-r. It's not like n3 and pl were forced to work togehter, they chose to. This doesn't count for the rest, who had been forced to ally to counter the wrecking ball. As if n3 doesn't have the same losses but now they need to face an overwhelming opposition alone. This is what I blame on pl, nothing else. And if you can't afford to lose a fleet, don't field it. Look at rus/cfc, they had heavy losses during HED, too - and ccp to blame. But they fought on and hell, risked everything in b-r as well.So for me, considering usual pl propaganda and then reality, their mouth writes checks that their ass can't cash.
Avatar
It's a shame that people are too busy shitposting to see the reality of your post. One of the reasons the B0tlord accords were (re-) cemented was that Grath wants to get at Elo. Presumably because BL threw former plans under the bus when they cut a deal with GSF to get at some sweet iskies in the early stages of the Fountain conflict. That's what the Accords gave PL: "gudfites" at their particular scale, where they could fight other groups with similar powerbases (BL and SOLAR respectively). It's a bit of a win-win, playing in more entertaining content and getting to roleplay some grudges.Similarily, it's a win-win for the GSF who can let the others weaken each other (keeping Rusrus in it's non-threatening state to the CFC both in terms of alignment and resources), let BL raid PL space and if PL damages BL properly do something about the arrangements Mittens had to make when backed up against a wall last year - I have a feeling he's not entirely keen on having BL on a "hired, but we can shoot you" basis. Last year they were in a position to cut a very sweet deal.
Avatar
Yeah but totally should have messed with them. 100 domis on the undock, lock up the freighters, enjoy the sperg and bile in local for a couple minutes, then.... snowballs.
Avatar
pandémie le gone ~
Avatar
That, I admit, would have been hilarious.
Avatar
Is this prepping up the 'we didn't need those moons anyway'?When the russians take your rental sov, you'll be glad for moon income to fall back on.
Avatar
No hurf blurf, no chestbeating, no denying....wow. It takes a big man to make a statement like that.As much as I didn't like Grath, this statement instantly made me respect him 10 times more.
Avatar
Ohh the hubris, how things have changed in few weeks since HED N3/PL chest thumping. Personally I'm glad mittens let PL out. We need e-honor enemies and we need the curb-stomp enemies. The bottom line is its better let PL members evac their shit and provide more gaming content to us and others than be "grrr goons" and unsub.
Avatar
Well I thought that we would defend shit longer before starting to cascade. I guess I was naive. Congratulation for RUS and CFC to victory.
Avatar
To a surrounded enemy, you must leave a way of escape
Avatar
Aside his raging hes a cool guy. And with that shitbeating they got no one cant really be mad for this decision.
Avatar
Have you seen a Sov. war end differently. One big battle and it's over. AT least N3 (N2) isn't going to run off to Low Sec.
Avatar
More than that, the Soviets were making rapid progress through Asia and were getting ready to launch a massive invasion of Japan. The US didn't have the logistics in place to invade first, and Truman was concerned that the Japanese might surrender to Stalin and create another Germany situation. Using the atomic bombs to awe the Japanese into surrender was the only option Truman felt he had in the time that was left before a Soviet invasion. So they picked cities that were large enough and undamaged enough to fully showcase the bomb's power, both to Japan and the Soviet Union, but small enough to not harden the Japanese further. After the second bomb Japan offered unconditional surrender to the United States, sparing the country from Soviet conquest and giving the US a secure western base to contain the Soviets. Ironically, if you compare modern Japan to modern East Germany the horrors of the atomic bomb probably 'saved' Japan in the long run. That isn't to say the bomb was the 'humane' option or anything, it was still horrific, but being a Soviet satellite would have caused far more long term damage
Avatar
Grath man i commend you, take care of you and yours first man! At the end of the day your core are the ones that are going to be next to you!
Avatar
the mittani is beyond food. he dines on the tears of his fallen enemies

you dont even know where the pathetic legion monicker comes from, do you?hint: check the wiki page
Avatar
That pun was furry-ious!
Avatar
On an alternative time-line, Let's say the CFC& Co. do this and something bad happens, and on this day CFC/RUS lose their Titan Fleet, then what? The Massive Victory becomes a defeat. This is the Safe, smart move.
Avatar
As much as I hate PL the 'u mad bro' shit gets you banned around here for a good reason
Avatar
What content are any of you going to get when there's soon going to be no-one left to fight?
Avatar
Yeah that is what he's hoping for (doesn't care what others think. Ha! He does care that is why he wrote that speech.) He's one very political "military leader."PL accidentally opened the door to B-R5, obligated NC./Nulli, and lost this fight early on by stubbornly attacking SortDragon while loosing 5 Titans - terrible trade. The huge gap in Titan deaths early on made a CFC Titan blob inevitable. They should have concentrated fire on weaker tanked Titans to put victory in doubt. That's the only way a smaller force wins, fear.N3 have a giant shadow looming overhead - expect them trip all over each other trying to make the best deal possible - Grath already made his.
Avatar
Right, because you cannot rely on allies! (psst. All they care about is their core group)
Avatar
Lol hey rusrus. Your friends (CFC) just allowed ur biggest enemy (pl) to get all there shit out safely. Lmao
Avatar
If CFC ever completely realizes the dream of the perfectly formed blue doughnut (without bite marks) then there will likely be some sudden long awaited SOV reforms.Think back to when the Tech monopoly was combined with the Exhumer ganking not terribly long ago. Paying out bounties on ganked exhumers to create additional incentive combined with a stranglehold on Tech prices was pretty much the winning end state of that economic model. Then CCP tweaked alchemy a bit, and made the procurer and the skiff much more costly to destroy, which rebalanced the equation again. (Also some moons were shifted.)
Avatar
I can't see the russians moving against PL without CFC support, which they wouldn't have. OTEC. I don't see N3(N2) having any rental space left though. Most likely, it will either be taken by RUS or occupied by displaced N3(N2) members.
Avatar
I like the way the guy who must have been the one to approve this agreement in the first place pretends to know nothing about it...
Avatar
You did it man congrats. This will be the post that causes RUS to turn on the CFC. You truly are a puppet master.
Avatar
Thrown under the Erebus, but given the situation it comes as no surprise. PL is making a sound strategic decision here. At the end of the day in EVE you can only count on those fleeted up and on grid with you when things go bad and only while they are in fleet. After that all bets are off.
Avatar
Your quality will be known among your enemies, before ever you meet them.
Avatar
What about Cobalt Edge. Not N3, but not part of the PL treaty either?
Avatar
I wonder how many N3(N2) Alliances will be willing to throw S2N under the bus for a chance to keep their space.

Avatar
I don't know maybe i am completely off the mark but my hats off to Grath and Pandemic Legion for their efforts in this war, the slowcat fleet from hell held us off for a long time, but in the end the answer was found, PL still dedicated Trillions to this fight and lost...I don't see it as leaving I see it as admitting a loss that is unprecidented in the history of this game. Great job to PL for the efforts they made, Grath you disappoint with your lack of rage.
Avatar
As a member of the CFC, mad props and respect to Grath, seeing a leader who cares about his members and doesn't give any fucks to others opinions is something any member should be proud of, no matter the losses. People have always said PL doesn't need space/wont disband from a loss/etc, and as a somewhat new player I am glad to see that those people were not wrong.Get well soon, hope to be fighting you guys again o7
Avatar
That is a good movie..
Avatar
Because that's going to happen.

Why do I feel like Simba after reading this and saying "thus the Circle of life"....LOLIf that happened, we'd have 2-more years of building and then going out again and doing it all over....rinse-repeat...

Plzzzzz Nulli ain't shit without PL & Vince proping you guys up. You know god damn well that's the only reason why your rental empire hasn't burned to the ground yet. Without them your nothing more than a battered wife at a soup kitchen. Test eviction ring a bell???

Hang on I'll get myself banned real quick, then we can all be happy!

You apparently don't have insight into how wars have really work in Eve; the metagame, behind-closed-doors deals are so much more important than what happens on the field of battle.

Why do you think all those "famous names" essentially retired in the first place? Reasons will easily include: game got boring as hell, nobody worth fighting, etc.CFC appear to be leaving themselves an out from this plague, by letting their enemy build up to come back and continue fighting. Content.
Avatar
I believe this is putting the honorable in honorable third parties.
Avatar
Sure I do. But I also know that a lot of people are spending more time playing DayZ, War Thunder, and walking around their Star Citizen ships than bothering with EVE these days. It just seems like a nice time for CFC to wipe Pandemic out entirely, ask if anyone else wants to challenge them, and if no-one does, officially declare Victory in EVE. And it won't be a meaningful victory if they wait until eveyone is playing other games before they declare the Final Crusade Wars.
Avatar
Oh god the tears.... just priceless.

Who the fuck are you?

I just want the war to be over, at least for awhile. It's been nothing but 'this is the only thing you should be logging into Eve for'....for months. Every SOTA sites poor participation and low morale. The 'third party' crap just kept everyone at war since last summer. Fleets are boring blob fests like the bad old days of Drakes everywhere, but now it was capitals so even less people got to play, and more people multi-boxing several cap pilot accts. TiDi till your tits fall off. Coalitions killed regional conflict, which IMHO, was where Eve shined best mixing size and complexity with good performance.
Avatar
Grath isn't wrong. But no one should look at what happened and not think that PL is quite ready to hang their erstwhile allies out to dry.
Avatar
It's time to clear out all the crap in PL. 50% of the people in PL are not the right people. PL used to be the ultimate pvp alliance now they are a shadoo of them from 2 years ago. Shadoo needs to seriously take back PL from Grath. He's just a load mouth grunt. You never hardly hear from the old guard anymore shadoo, shamis, Jeff is just a forum whore, Elise? Where the fuck are you guys? Your just to blame for the crap PL has become. got rich and thought fuck it. I joined PL and left a week later because it was so bad. BL is now the new PL which is sad really. Just get back to what you do best and become independent again being real game changers. Honestly losing all those titans was a kick up the ass you needed. But if you leave Grath in charge it's game over for PL.

This is the kind of view that makes people effective CEOs/Presidents. Under the circumstances, well played by Snig, RZR, CFC, Mittani, etc. all around. Still...this isn't a drop in the bucket as far as the borders being redrawn and the economic impact B-R is already having on Tranquility.
Avatar
I got to say, all good jokes aside, that I kind of respect and admire PL for taking the hard decision to quit now. Usually people, especially in EVE don't quit until they start fail cascading. We have a saying where I am from "2 thirds of a man is to know when to retreat". Wars are won and lost, and this war was a marvel to watch. Props for both sides for bringing, and I know one thing for certain, the game wouldn't be the same without goons and PL, not so sure about n3 though....
Avatar
so looking at the kill bords looks like fleegion is losing baby titans to bl with no fight .I don't get it bl is half the size of pl . am I right to think pl are faill scading

if so can I have your stuff pl ?

They are absolutely doing the right thing for their alliance. They should not be derided for having lost a war. It is the loser who. PL have contributed to EVE lore to the point where an actual statue was placed in space. All parties involved deserve our respect for that. We're ready for the next chapter in the grand story of EVE Online.I, for one, would like to express my thanks and respect to The Mittani for bringing forth this incredible defeat of a formidable opponent.
Avatar
Absolutely disappointed that anyone would take their foot off PL's throat once you have beaten them so decisively. This decision will come back to haunt those who made it.
Avatar
I was referring more to the trench warfare kind of World War I, but you're right in the point you make.

On Wednesday night, a host of Pandemic Legion ships were seen docking and undocking from the B-R5 outpost and evacuating assets freely, despite it being held by RAZOR Alliance, a CFC member and ostensibly hostile to PL. There are hundreds of billions of PL alliance assets trapped in this outpost, as B-R5 had been the primary staging system of Pandemic Legion in the Halloween War until it was captured in a brutal 21-hour conflict.

In Darkness of Despair alliance chat, Ghost Storm posted the following skype log:

Ghost Storm: Hi
Ghost Storm: WTF why PL have dock right in b-r??
numismancer: talk to sort, elo, union and zumzat
numismancer: pl wanted a deal to abandon n3

This, and player reports of the evacuating PL ships in B-R5, provoked a forum discussion at Failheap Challenge asking about the rumor. Grath Telkin, CEO of Sniggerdly, one of Pandemic Legion's founding corporations and occasional TMC contributor confirmed the rumors in a reply.

I don't throw allies under a bus, Vince is something I consider and Efriend, and despite how things go with him and other people we have dealings with, Vince has always been there and always had our back.

That said, my corp, my fucking corp, took a hit of around 1.5 trillion isk. My alliance as a whole took a shot to the nuts somewhere in the neighborhood of 4.5trillion isk. Those numbers are beyond staggering in nature and dwarf the amount of money more than half the alliances in EVE will ever see, much less recover from.

And right now thats what needs to happen.

I need my people to get a chance to recover.

I've been in PL for a really long time, and all the welps we've had have been chump change to the actual members in comparison to the losses we're facing here, and coupled with BL knocking on the door in Drones near constantly I made a judgement call to get my people whole.

I eat a shit sandwich, I pull back, I get my people right, I get my house right, and I get my cap fleet back in order, and then we see where life is and how things are going.

I don't expect people to like my call, and personally your opinions on my call mean less than fuck all, what matters to me is how my people are doing and dealing with things and how the future of the alliance looks, and the best way for me to do that is to back our shit up to our house and have some Legion on Legion combat up north.

Anything outside of how the alliance recovers is irrelevant to me[.]
