The game is pretty "Meh" so far. Doesnt run at playable framerates on any map with weather using a 550ti.

Before I get a rush of people correcting me,I haven't played for over a month and things certainly could of changed in that time.

It has indeed changed, it plays much better now

As DangerosoDavo mentioned, it does play better now... I would suggest you get back in before the October 9 update - to see it go from significantly improved to just plain awesome. ;) I cant wait for this next patch to hit. ;)

Its really quite good, but there are some annoying mechanics they still need to work on. As being a Scout Mech Pilot... those bugs tend to be a bit more noticeable. However, for anyone that just loves to slug it out rather then the 1 shot kills, MWO is definitely the place for you!

I like the fact you can be a 'weak' artillery 'mech and toss some support to your frontline guys, missing the remote repping though..... :p

I really hope LRM boats become viable at some point because I am lazy and/or unskilled :)

I just discovered a perfect build for my scout Jenner this week and solo killed an Atlas and a K2 Cat in two of the four games I've played with it. I'm loving it.

Oh man, with the latest patch they finally hit the right balance. If you don't have cover/AMS and a good LRM pilot finds you outside of 500MM you're toast. A Hunchie with 5 LRM/5s killed my fast Awesome last week.

"Also missing are five of the 16 announced mechs; only nine have been sighted on the beta servers to date."16-5 =/= 9, You surely can write, although maths seem hard.

pretty much everythintg that was in the 6th update got slotted to the 16th

well heck, good catch! Any other advice?

the engine update coming out today is supposed to be pretty huge! I can't wait to see it.

october 9th update failed on SO MANY LEVELS! Where do I start?! (pls understand I'm not knocking,,, just as a paid founder it has been so much better up till now!)We've had complaints from simple frame-rate probs to enitre teams lagging out due to servers (usually toward latter half of game or with a full team). Also a few new mechanics have resulted in TAG etc just not working at all!On the (rather puny) plus-side it can look prettier... if you can see through the forced 'film-grain effect' that can only be removed by taking off all PP.I'm a complete fan and LOVE the game... if only it had stayed as stable as before the patch! Will be watching very closely! (and still playing- when possible! LOVE the mechanics!!)

The Crysis 3.4 patch has resulted in a VERY sticky server situation! Especially comparing it graphically to WoT.please read my comment below for a few details... I'm not knocking this great game and awesome franchise (was thoroughly enjoying it up till today!) but the lag-spikes and awful forced 'film-grain' must go!Emergency patch needed FAST!!!

MWO beta testers unleashed

MechWarrior Online was first announced with an ambitious trailer released in June 2009. Originally called MechWarrior 5, Piranha Games Inc. decided to launch the MechWarrior universe using a free-to-play model similar to to Tribes: Ascend. The MWO closed beta launched in July 2012. PGI's sudden removal of the Non-Disclosure Agreement blanketing the closed beta has allowed thousands of players to release videos and take screenshots for the first mech game to be in development in at least five years.

Plenty of people seem willing to bet money on an upcoming open beta release, but it's far from certain.

What makes MWO stand out?

Besides the giant robot theme and extremely popular intellectual property, MechWarrior Online is structured in a way reminiscent of World of Tanks, while utilizing the more modern Crysis engine. MechWarrior Online devs are working tirelessly on a 'role warfare' system that aims to balance top end gameplay. This should mean that the game won't be rife with the heaviest mechs availible and will instead reward the light scout, the medium skirmisher, and the heavy fire support roles.

What is still missing?

The galactic metagame reminiscent of World of Tanks 'clan wars' that PGI has planned, named 'Community Warfare', has not yet hit the beta. Community Warfare has two branches, the faction war and the border world conflict. Players swearing allegance to one of the six factions attempt to wrest control of buffer planets whilst players in mercenary corporations fight over fringe worlds using a contract bidding system.

Also missing are five of the 16 announced mechs; only nine have been sighted on the beta servers to date. The next patch to come out (scheduled for October 9th) is purported to contain a Crysis engine upgrade, along with a highly anticipated netcode tweak. October 16th will see the beta premiere of the tenth mech, yet to be announced.

Also missing from the game is more testers! If you're interested in participating in the MWO beta, there are hundreds of codes available from multiple sources. Good hunting!
