Gal/Min JTF: Ladistier Falls; Mission Accomplished

Avatar
Its nice to see someone in eve having fun.
Avatar
Why do people think TEST joining the Caldari side will affect anything? Its not like they have been an effective fighting force since they left Fountain. Why would moving to faction warfare suddenly make them a capable fighting force?
Avatar
waffles gonna have some fun when we get back
Avatar
I think the FW move is to HELP them become a fighting force again. Its going to take them some time but i think they will emerge stronger for it.I could be completely wrong and they could just crash and burn under the sheer weight of numbers (and therefore lack of LP) but time will tell....
Avatar
Come join FW if you want :)As long as you like generally using smaller ships it's a blast (pun definitely intended)
Avatar
Good this will stop you guys from camping our system, wherever that is. :)
Avatar
Its EVE. TEST can play wherever, whenever, whatever they wanted for goodfight or badfight. doesn't matter, let them enjoy the game FFS!
Avatar
Tests k/b has been red since joining fw gf gf
Avatar
waffles are just as bad as pl in subcaps so no threat then !
Avatar
You clearly don't do your research before posting. When is their killboard not red (always).
Avatar
Ah, left it for bed around 80+%, good to hear they capped it later on. GF
Avatar
Santo Trafficante is a cunt.
Avatar
All thanks to Arth Lawing's return to Gal mil!
Avatar
This is basically it, we have 3 brand new FC running the FW ops, learning by fire. We had 0 chance to save Lad it was to far form Tamo but we got in 5 days of small gang fights. Gal Mil have some shit hot pilots that are fun to shoot and we are learning a lot.
Avatar
Hi, you must be new to Eve.Test does not care for your "KB Stats"
Avatar
How will we ever recover from this devastating comment about the color of our KB?????
Avatar
Its only been 6 days. People really need to keep this in perspective. Test as an alliance has not done FW before so we are all learning and standardizing fits for FW. We are training new FC's and working to rebuild at the same time as well. We are not leaving next week so give us some time eh?

Avatar
I never understood the importance of a green or even a red killboard. I get why they are the color they are.. but seriously, who cares. Unless I get paid monthly based on my rating, I care more about how I got there not what it is =(Anyone can maintain a green kb by podding cynos.
Avatar
I'm one of those shit pilots! (I don't mind admitting it because e-peen is for suckers)I haven't logged in for a few days though (tried a different pilot for a foundation for new changes with Rubicon) but will log in again soon to learn more!
Avatar
Has DUST been a factor in any of this?
Avatar
While its nice to imagine that Test is a force of power in CalMil. People need to realize that Test has only been in FW for only six days and as an alliance has never done FW before.
Avatar
I hear TESTies really care about their k/d ratios. Admitedly its usually laughing at how bad they are <3
Avatar
We know its only been six days. Believe me, I understand, but this isn't meant to bash TEST. TEST has a mountain of work ahead of it. My 'advice' is to begin plexing operations. This does not mean you need standardizing fits or FC's to lead. You need butts in seats, in T-1 Frigs with enough fire power to kill the npc rat and to stay within 30 km of the beacon. It means farming the LP where the money is, and keeping the pressure up all over the zone. You do that and you members will make LP which turns into ISK and turns into fights and good times.Your fits for fleets is secondary. Train your FC's all you want. But those goals are good for your stated eventual return to Null. It should not be your focus. Once you have 10-15 systems vulnerable, you can trot out your shinys and try your fleet doctrines. Until then plex plex and plex some more. Put ISK in your members pockets.
Avatar
We actually have been running organized plexxing fleets as of the last three days. To be honest though, there is still a lot we need to learn about FW (FC should I deposit some LP in the ihub?).I have been making a nice flow of isk that has actually rivaled the isk I made in null (in fact it has been much easier; hop in a site, watch some shows and get LP)Any advice is welcome!
Avatar
I think you meant to say FW corps are no threat to waffles
Avatar
Funky, your FW updates are amazing! Like a war reporter embedded in the war-zone, you provide amazing information and analysis. Keep it up!
Avatar
Okay.1. Don't donate LP until leadership makes the decision to upgrade to tier two or three. Individual donations are a waste.2. Plexing fleets are fun, but remember the 3 to 1 run. On average a system is going to have about 3 plexes up at anyone time. Each takes about 45 to respawn. Plan accordingly ie a three man plex fleet should take on 2 systems. Plex one, next system, rinse and repeat.3. Individual pilots don't need an organized plex fleet. Jump into a defensive system and profit.4. Plan for your real fights when you start Hub bashing. Once TEST is ready to really test itself, put a bunch of systems into vulnerable and start prime time on Sunday. You will have half of the militia on your tail plus all of the locals. Then you will really see what you are made of.5. Finally a few tactics. If you run your plexing fleets, jump into plexes in numbers kick out the inhabitants, and spread out through the system. Kite fits work better inside the plex where you can dictate the range and the terms of the engagement. Brawlers don't tend to fair as well. Generally they get mauled until they get to control range. In fast frig fights your margin for error is not as big. Jump to 10 at the plex and not to 0. At 10 you will still be able to warp in but won't get hung up on the gate. If in doubt run. Take fights you are sure about. Learn the value of a tracking disruptor and sensor dampener. Its a huge advantage.6. Finally. Plexing is not about killing the opponent. It happens. You are there to hold the plex, make the LP and proft.
Avatar
People thought test would make a difference? All I've seen them do is plex in coward-frigs.
Avatar
TEST is making a huge difference in FW. They are able to actually bash ihubs at will and they provide numbers to plex. It is true that they are bad pilots and lose massive numbers of ships to inferior numbers. However, their mere presence has caused Caldari to come out of thin air and start fighting and plexing. TEST have tipped the pendulum back towards the Caldari. All that remains to be seen is how far the pendulum will swing the Caldari way before it swings back.
Avatar
Yes read FunkyBacon's early posts regarding the Gal/Min JTF: http://themittani.com/news/old... He give's a great explanation on how Dust has been a factor.
Avatar
Have you guys made C02 failscade yet?
Avatar
i refreshed my knowledge the day before we actually entered, our intel is up to date, though that's not really our challenge atm..
Avatar
If you mean "embedded" in way US military had "journalists" embedded in their army in the second Iraqi war, I have to disagree. I find Funkybacon's pieces fairly objective and trustworthy.
Avatar
In before the entirety of CONDI joins Gallente FW for the sole purpose of hunting down and destroying the one entity that ever dared declare independence from Goonswarm Federation.
Avatar
Mistakes were made.
Avatar
LOL. In what world are you living in? They take 1 system in 6 days that is basically so deep behind their lines and so far away from our staging that its been vulnerable for 6 days... and no one has even bother to deplex it. They finally decide to take the ihub after enormous effort and you write an article about them winning?TEST with the help of calmil have taken like 11 systems in 6 days in the constellations that are close to us and are now in T2.
Avatar
Yes i read that one, I was was curious of DUST had any effect on THIS particular battle.
Avatar
You must not have been there. Ladister was getting deplexed every day by CalMil forces who've been trying to hold the area as a flanking beachhead. OMG has been staging out of Aschee to hold Ladi try and retake OMS.GalMil folks are happy to see TEST out there starting fights and giving us systems to offensive plex. The warzone is always the most fun when neither side is in a dominant position.
Avatar
I've seen them bring plenty of fights, both in cheapfit frigs and shiny stuff. TEST may not care about kb stats, but I enjoy seeing mine inflated. : )
Avatar
I've been reporting on FW here since March. The 4 reports I've submitted this week have been about the JTF offensive and have had little to do with TEST directly. The offensive was actually planned before test announced they were coming to FW, though their announcment did cause the plan to get moved up to the 11th. it was originally set for the 20th.
Avatar
No temperate planets it lad, so no dust this time. :(
Avatar
Lol, i tought Test is a urban legend. Lately noone could see them, because of their speed. Did this change?
Avatar
Funky's been doing these for months and TEST has been in a few days, maybe its just you are paying more attention since TEST joined.
Avatar
I think no one can see them as they are taking the farmer route instead of the pvp route and are all flying stabbed and cloaky frigs :)This could be a great learning curve for test, learning to actualy fly a ship rather then orbit anchor and press F1 when told, instead they are going all farmer, a shame.
Avatar
dont you fuckers get bored of talking about the same lame shit everyday."test sucks lolz""test will own all teh warzones!""FW is stoopid you idiotzzz"are these kinds of comments really something you wanna spend time typing out and sharing with the internet? seems like....idk a huge waste of fuckin time?while we are racking up kills and presiding over the most active zone in EVE you haters can only sit back and complain? come join the fun! its a game people, you could try and pretend to be having a good time.
Avatar
Hey, they can go run around a busy freeway for all I care. I was more wondering why them joining FW was a news-worthy event, and anything that now occurs in Cal/Gal FW revolves around TEST participation.
Avatar
Yeah, i logged at around 79% as well. But at that time even, the squids had given up trying to actively defend the system.Looking forward to any fighting that will occur around Eha in the future!
Avatar
In no way was I trying to compare funky to those 'journalists' you reference. His reporting is vastly above anything like that. His ability to report what is going on with objectivity and informed analysis is second to none.
Avatar
sorry for trying to earn isk while pvping~and I've only really seen two or so people who fit stabs to their ships while in a fleet, and another two that were using manticors when plexing (and they were accompanied by me and another guy in combat-fit frigs).keep drinking your quafe-aid~
Avatar
Don't mess with nullsec-ers, yo! The F1 pushing, 20-10% tidi blob fights is srs bsnss, mkay?
Avatar
Nice report, funkeh
Avatar
There are so many tears going on in between CO2 and GЅF. From: "Wе want more space, give us more constellations in Tribute that arent in bridge range from PB" to GSF replies: "You can't take a 185 man corp and you want more space?" :)
Avatar
So much talk of kb stats. K/D ratio's turn people into pussies. Whenever I see a green kb I just think "there goes another pussy who warps out of any fight he doesn't know he's going to win". Grow some fucking balls and engage ffs, internet spaceships are expendable.
Avatar
I'd just like to point out that red represents love, the love we have for everyone else in calmil so we paint our kbs red
Avatar
because TEST is still a noticeable part of the militia - around EU prime a quarter of the militia online is TEST~
Avatar
As a Testie I ask everyone to come mess with us.
Avatar
Or they are good at what they do. There is that.
Avatar
Low-Sec = BEST SEC!
Avatar
ladi wasn't really a TEST offensive but an opportunity for those of us who were bored and will be leading fleets to network and learn the mechanics under an experienced FW FC, and network within the militia. Great learning opportunity, and as you've seen with our own offensives closer to home we've began implementing what we've learnt into taking systems and putting ourselves into tier 2. With a more centralised militia leadership I'm hoping this push will continue though we do expect to see more resistance closer to home dispersed over a few key systems with ladi down.In the six days we've been here the caldari have gone from something like 3% control into tier two at 21% and we've knocked the gallente back into tier one periodically with them bleeding LP and hovering between 20.1 and 19% constantly upgrading systems to hold them just above the line.
Avatar
Will do, but there is no excuse to fit stabs, and a cloak on a t1 frig is gay whatever the reason, farming in FW is absolutely terrible at the moment, its not all TEST ofc but large parts of TEST are turning into the cloaky faggy farmer, its a shame as small gang pvp and small fast ships is a great way of learning how to pilot ones ship. You can, and people do, make a lot of isk without all the faggy cloaky/stabbed tricks, its lazy and thats why people hate it.
Avatar
Don't give me that, you're wank :)
Avatar
I think TESTs biggest problem would be their staging point, they are too far from the heart of the FW, one of the non FW systems near ostingele or even oulley would be a lot better staging point, outside of FW space so they dont have to worry about losing access and yet close enough to the central points so they can make a impact across the war zone. That's without the clear threat from having to pass through aunenen, Tundragons home camping system, they might be somewhat diminished at the moment but from the looks of it they are getting a lot of kills, also all its gonna take is someone (will prolly be santo trafficante) to set up a smartbomber on the pipe after aunenen and even your pods will be killed on a regular basis, making reshipping for the common folk in TEST (without a JF) a fucking nightmare.Just my two pence.
Avatar
Why not link your killboard so we can all poke fun at you :)
Avatar
Not meaning to perpetuate the TEST hate train here, but testies can hardly be called nullsec-ers now.Other than, i'm pretty sure it was meant for the 0.0 dwellers that look down onto FW content. But yeah, go ahead and make it all about you like a genuine drama queen
Avatar
Not a single Test guy has stayed in a plex to fight me when I enter it. Every time it's an atron loaded to the brim with stabs.
Avatar
Well done Gallente/Minmatar. Impressive Essence campaign. No doubt. Very enjoyable couple of weeks to be in FW. Calmil, while generally outnumbered (when I was online at least), showed some great spirit and skill in dragging it out for far longer than was expected - midweek of last week I actually thought we'd beaten off the hordes in Ladistier but it wasn't to be and the weekend was a killer. <3 our Test friends. Fun guys to share comms and fly with. Looking on with great interest to what occurs in Blackrise whilst we retake what was lost in Essence. :pThanks for the ongoing war reports FB. Always appreciated.
Avatar
From personal observation, after their ships are destroyed, many test pilots will just sit there and patiently wait for their pods to get blapped for the express trip home rather than warp them out. Not sure if it's because of cheap empty clones or they're just too used to doing business in null where you're usually in a bubble when you go down.
Avatar
I apologize for not mentioning more names, but if you look at just the snuff BR alone, 22 alliances and 45 corps were involved. The article would look like a credit roll at the end of a movie if I mentioned everyone specifically, which is why I try to say caldari, gallente, or minmatar unless it's something very specific.
Avatar
I for one fail to understand what a fitting choice has to do with one's sexuality. Regardless, it's a valid tactical choice and it comes with added bonus of buttmad hostiles throwing their hissy fits in local.
Avatar
No fair! I use merlins fit to the brim with stabs. Merlins are dead sexy.
Avatar
Is funky bacon crunchy and delicious?
Avatar
Who the fuck are TEST?
Avatar
see you at the end of the week, sweetheart <3
Avatar
I agree on that i was happy to be apart of it no matter who got mentioned what im talking about is the last few months we've been grinding systems back almost single handed with no mention :( makes me sad :)
Avatar
someones butthurt :) also, we are pretty bad. but man do we have fun.
Avatar
FW has heated up significantly since TEST joined and we're glad for it. That said, TEST fought furiously and with other interlopers like BNI even to the point of resorting to legions of DUST to hold off the inevitable conquest of Ladistier. To act like they didn't care just shows you weren't there. There were multiple fleet battles every day and it's the most fun I've had in EVE in my short 2.5 mos tenure. Props to Ladistier Falls fleet and the Russians who I never saw because they're outside my time zone for their dedication in tediously grinding Ladistier in to submission.
Avatar
Well, if you read their forums, that was supposed to be the reason they joined FW. To make money. Since they've been losing fleet after fleet (admittedly some of which were T1 fit Talwars), that's not helping their wallet. Maybe they decided to follow their doctrine.
Avatar
When they introduced FW 2.0, the Gallente held all the systems PvP'ers were typically based out of. The Caldari corp I was in moved to Aeschee, which is out of the warzone and next to Ladistier. That system, along with OMS, quickly fell. We didn't take Heyd as that was the largest Gallente low sec base, but we had a wonderful time cutting it off from Villore. I left for null sec a few months later, and I realize a lot has probably changed, but seeing the Gals had been booted from Heyd was a huge Caldari victory in my book.
Avatar
FunkyBacon,Please make these FW articles a regular column. They are the reason I started coming to TheMittani (and thus, reading other articles). I love them!
Avatar
You mean RunVP, not PVP, i'm shure. I know you guys have Black Belt on avoiding techniques, and a lot fo people saw this in Fountain.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...Dreddit was full of this before the war. And, sry, just this came to my mind since i heard about Test going to FW.Just wonder what else do you guys could loose in this game.
Avatar
Look m8. I'm in TEST. There was not a single damn fleet put up to help lanister. Maybe some FC decided to roam down there at some point, but nothing formal happened. If we really cared we'd have a 24hour plexing fleet just sitting in the system with 30 dudes.
Avatar
Heyd was definitely a major base at that time, but it wasn't the largest Gallente low sec base. Nenna and Vlil were larger then. When Heyd fell there was really only one FC who was basing operations from there, and he took a break from the game along with many other GalMil pilots once we took full warzone control. It was certainly an accomplishment for the Caldari, and a blunder for GalMil letting it slip, but Heyd has never had the status of Fortress Nenna.
Avatar
lol I said "lanister". Freudian slip I guess. I miss game of thrones =(
Avatar
Dude, take the compliment. We know TEST wasn't running the fleets, but I was there too and there were damn sure plenty of your pilots and ships. The way we see it if ya'll hadn't joined the squids they wouldn't have put up nearly the fight they did. Thanks for the fights and the killmails.
Avatar
There are not enough systems in the war zone for TEST to fully implement a doctrine of 3 plexers per 2 systems. The only way significant amounts of LP are going to be made by TEST is by hitting Tier 3/4 and running the shit out of FW missions. There just is not enough plexes to accommodate their sheer numbers unless they are happy to split LP 10 ways.
Avatar
No, I meant PvP. Don't confuse it with running, please.Running is evaccing delve to a shitty lowsec constellation before the invasion even began

Ladistier, Essence Region - 10 days ago a Joint Task Force consisting of both Minmatar and Gallente pilots began a a 3-system assault against Caldari held Heydieles, Old Man Star, and Ladistier. The mission: take the area of space from the Caldari, and close the southern flank of the war zone prior to TEST alliance joining the war on the side of the Caldari. Only the first 2 systems were captured by the time TEST was able to join the Caldari militia, but even the infusion brought by TEST was not enough to stem the tide. The final system in the campaign, Ladistier, was surrendered to the Gallente at 02:05 Eve Standard Time on October 21st, and will officially change hands at downtime.

Fighting has been steady for the entire campaign, often exceeding 1,000 ships destroyed in 24 hour periods in systems under direct assault. Unofficial estimates of ships destroyed range from 8,000 - 10,000 for the 10 day period, including losses on both sides as well as a significant number of neutral ships looking for fights in the hot zones.

Ladistier has not been the only place to find action over the last 4 days. Upon entrance into the war, TEST, in collaboration with fellow Caldari alliance Templis Dragonaors, staged an assault on long held Gallente system Eha. Eha has eluded the grasp of Templis recently, and it was also the line Ev0ke was unable to cross in their final month in the war earlier this year. The attack on Eha had the desired effect of pulling resources away from the assault on Ladistier, but thus far Eha has held, and TEST has yet to make a significant dent in contested percentage. Various smaller guerilla assaults have been staged against Gallente systems Nennamaila and Nisuwa as well. All these efforts helped slow the capture of Ladistier, but were not significant enough to force a large recall of forces to actively defend the systems.

Not everything the Caldari have been up to in the last few days has meant defeat. With TEST's help, the Caldari have managed to retake several outlying systems, and they now hold 46 out of 101 systems in the war zone. While they are still presently at tier 1 control, they hold more than enough real estate to upgrade to tier 2 just as soon as they can motivate their membership to donate the required LP and upgrade systems. With extremely significant donations, they could push all the way to tier 3, which would attract a significant number of farmers to their cause. While the influx would deflate the value of SPROT LP (presently worth around 2,000 ISK per unit at present Jita prices, depending on the exact item) it would make the task of plexing non-essential systems far easier, and free up Caldari combat pilots to attack more key areas.

While no love has been lost this past week between the two sides, there are times when even hated enemies will put aside their differences for a greater cause. A report came in today of a joint effort by both the Caldari and Gallente to take on a fleet comprised of Snuff Box, BALKAN EXPRESS, and Stealth Wear inc. The frenemy Factional Warfare fleet was able to take down a Snuff triage Archon as well as 13 command ships, 8 guardians, 3 HACs and a Loki before the pirates were forced off the field. Minutes later, famed smart bombing Panther pirate Santo Trafficante managed to nab a pair of fleeing Snuff box shiny capsules worth 1.5 and 2.9 billion ISK respectively. Though in the middle of a fierce war, both FW parties left each other in peace, though fighting picked up again shortly in Ladistier when the Gallente continued their push.

With Heydieles, Old Man Star, and Ladistier now taken, Russian Minmatar alliance Smile 'n' Wave is said to be moving in and basing out of that area. Meanwhile, the bulk of Gallente forces move north to focus more intently on the threat posed by TEST and other Caldari alliances closer to their home systems. While one battle seems to be ending, another looks to be taking it's place in the very near future. We'll keep you posted!
