You forgot that activision got in on the action. They were notorious before blizzard for milking things for all their worth with shit quality. Then they leaped on the gravy train blizzard had made and it will carry them for a long long time.
That's what happens. You make one amazing game and your studio's set for the next decade. Just look at Bungie and Bethesda. Blizzard just happened to make 2 market-dominating games (a 3rd if you include Diablo)Also, is anyone else mildly intrigued that all three studios start with a "B"?
I think that line is straight out of the book's. I'm not 100% sure on that would have to go back and read them again. But fairly sure it was something like that. Anyway great trailer I might have to get back into SC.
Did anyone want starcraft to change though? For 10 years it garnered fairly strong and continued interest in Korea's competitive gaming arenas. Was there really any need for it to be different?I don't think they really needed to change the formula for that one to win. It just needed to be a major update of a working concept.Although...they kinda did the update a working concept to D3 and that flopped hardcore. And I really believe that the D3 thing hurt them badly. I will complete the story of starcraft because it's important to me. But aside from that...once they come out with some new franchise or do something for Diablo...I'll be much more skeptical of anything they put out. You only get to burn me 3 times at most (counting HotS and protoss xpac).Damn...I am a consumer whore.
Today Twitch hosted a live stream of the starcraft 2: HoTS Vengeance Trailer followed by a short Q&A. After all was said and done TotalBiscuit and dApollo hosted an amazing match between the Zerg player CrazymoviNG and the Protoss player Grubby.
